CISA3, SPECFLIC Showcased at HASTAC Meeting; Talks Now Available for On-Demand Viewing
San Diego, CA, June 5, 2007 -- The conference of the Humanities, Arts, Science and Technnology Advanced Collaboratory (HASTAC) was organized this year by the UC Humanities Research Institute (UCHRI) and its director, UC Irvine professor David Theo Goldberg, an academic participant in Calit2's Irvine division. The May event was part of a year-long set of national, and to some degree international, initiatives to promote digital humanities. The event at Calit2 in San Diego was the closing event of the year-long program, and featured demos and presentations on UC projects at the interface of humanities/arts/social sciences and the digital world.

UCSD visual arts professor Adriene Jenik's talk centered on her Calit2-sponsored SPECFLIC new-media project, and Calit2 program manager Hubenko spoke about the institute's new Center of Interdisciplinary Science for Art, Architecture and Archaeology.
