RECOMB Satellite Workshop on Computational Cancer Biology - Videos Available
San Diego, CA, October 15, 2007 -- Cancer biology is undergoing a revolution spurred by the application of high-throughput techniques such as genome sequencing, comparative genomic hybridization, expression microarrays, and mass spectrometry to tumor samples. These techniques have generated large collections of data that are impacting both basic cancer biology and clinical applications. Cancer is disease of tremendous complexity, and thus the analysis and interpretation of this data demands sophisticated, specialized computational methods.
The RECOMB Workshop on Computational Cancer Biology, held at Calit2's Atkinson Hall September 18-20 2007, aimed to bring together researchers from both the biological and computational communities to discuss areas of mutual interest, advance the frontiers of cancer research, and expand the community of researchers working in computational cancer biology.
