Doug Ramsey Hired as Senior Public Information Rep for Calit2
Effective July 2, Doug Ramsey has joined Calit2 and the UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering Communications team. As a senior public information representative, Doug will be working 50% time for both Calit2 and Jacobs School of Engineering.
Ramsey has 30 years of experience in print and TV journalism. He has worked as a reporter and editor for, among others, Newsweek, The Economist and ESPN, NBC, FNN, and CNBC. In addition, he has lived and worked around the world as a foreign correspondent in Brussels, London, and Tokyo. For the past six years, he has run his own public relations business in San Diego and provided business and technology reports for KUSI-TV.
Given the breadth and length of his background and the resulting contacts he has, we're hopeful Ramsey might also contribute to a media relations plan for the California Institutes for Science and Innovation initiative as a whole.
