Nearly 50 participants attended the second in a series of Calit² UCSD sponsored short courses. Professor Ruediger Urbanke, of the The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Switzerland, led the two day course on Iterative Coding Systems. The diverse audience included representatives from the faculty and graduate students of UCSD, as well as, industry representatives from Qualcomm, Conexant, Mindspeed, WIdcomm, Inc., KDDI Laboratories, ST Microelectronics, AMCC and Texas Instruments.

The short course was held on August 28-29, 2001 at the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) on the UCSD campus in La Jolla, California.
