For UCSD and UCI: Calit2 Publishes Principles of Occupancy for New Buildings
8.31.04 -- Both new buildings at UCI and UCSD are making rapid progress toward conclusion, with the UCI building expected to be occupied this fall and the UCSD building the spring of 2005. To facilitate identifying the research groups that will move into the new facilities, the UCI and UCSD divisions have published a joint set of "principles for occupancy".
Process and Timeline for Requesting Space in UCSD's Building
In addition, the UCSD division has established a process for requesting space in its building. Such requests for space should be made in accordance with the principles of occupancy document and e-mailed to the UCSD division director, Ramesh Rao, with a copy to Kate Tull. Final or conditional allocation decisions will be communicated by November 1 for all requests received by October 1. Decisions will take into consideration CPEC, campus norms, and the Calit² principles for occupancy. In the case of conditional decisions, the UCSD division will use the month of November to collect additional information and plan to make final decisions by December 1.
When submitting a request, please identify the individual or individuals who will serve as the appropriate point(s) of contact for us to seek clarification and communicate decisions related to the request for space.
