Bio: Ph.D., California Institute of Technology, Environmental Engineering and Science, 1992 M.S., California Institute of Technology, Environmental Engineering and Science, 1990 B.S. with distinction, Stanford University, Geology, 1985 Dr. Stanley B. Grant is Professor of Environmental Engineering, and Chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering & Materials Science at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). He received a B.S. (with distinction) in Geology from Stanford University (1985) and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering and Science from the California Institute of Technology (1990 and 1992, respectively). Dr. Grant is recipient of the prestigious Career Award from the National Science Foundation (1985-2000), and a number of local awards including Conservator of the Year (2002) from the Bolsa Chica Wetlands Conservancy, and the Distinguished Assistant Professor Award for Teaching from the UCI Academic Senate (1999).

Research: Dr. Grant studies the sources, fate, and transport of pathogens and indicator organisms in drinking water, urban runoff, and the coastal ocean.
