On behalf of the University of California, the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies (IR/PS) invites you to attend a public meeting on "The Digital Revolution in China." We are fortunate to have two very distinguished speakers making this presentation: Mr. Wang Jianzhou, President of China Unicom, a China United Telecommunications Corporation, and renowned reform economist; and Professor Wu Jinglian, Independent Non-executive Director, who serves on the China Unicom Board.
The meeting is scheduled forOctober 30, 2002, 10:00-11:30 am in the Robinson Auditorium at IR/PS. This will be a great opportunity to learn about Unicom, the dynamic digital market in China, and PRC digital policies and regulations.
The session format will include brief remarks by Mr. Wang and Professor Wu followed by a discussion led by IR/PS Professor Susan Shirk, a China scholar, and Peter Cowhey, IR/PS Dean, a leading expert on telecommunications, and former FCC International Bureau Chief. Questions
from the audience will be invited.

Driving directions: Take I-5 to La Jolla Village Drive West. This becomes North Torrey Pines Road. Continue for approximately one mile. Turn right on Pangea Road, make an immediate left into the parking structure. Signage is provided to direct you to the IR/PS auditorium.
