PRIME provides students from UCSD the opportunity to participate in international research and cultural experience that will better prepare students to participate in the global workplace of the 21st century. Students’ research and related activities will contribute to the development of the global infrastructure that brings observing platforms, computers, data and people together to conduct research. Through their research internships students will become ‘cyber infrastructure ambassadors’ to leading institutions around the Pacific Rim and to gain experience of living and working at an international research site outside the US. PRIME leverages the NSF investment in the Pacific Rim Application Grid Middleware Assembly (PRAGMA) institutions and partners.
